Urban Retreat – June 2016

YOGA:

FOR BETTER SLEEP & TO REDUCE ANXIETY

MEDITATION:

SOUND meditation in the form of a couple of basic group chanting suggestions, and then a totally relaxing and calming metal singing bowl meditation.

Transitioning into Winter with a warming, grounding and calming yoga practice. Our focus is on yoga poses for better sleep and to reduce anxiety.

So you can make the most of the inward drawing and nurturing qualities of winter.

Our Urban Retreats are a wonderful way to unwind and recharge whilst deepening our knowledge about yoga and meditation. It’s our afternoon to fill our own cup and find that sense of renewal and connection.

Our boutique yoga studio is perfectly situated in native bushland allowing us to feel connected to ourselves and away from any outside responsibilities.

Restoring our sense of peace and spaciousness.

The first part of the Retreat invites us to experience different aspects of yoga. Aspects such as chair yoga, meridian yoga, chakra yoga, yin yoga or simply yoga with a certain theme.

In JUNE, it will be yoga for better sleep and to reduce anxiety. Making a meaningful and gentle transition into the season of winter.

Then we will pause and indulge in scrumptious afternoon tea & coffee. Both sweet and savoury treats are lovingly made by our caterers. This is the time when conversation will your fellow yogis will flourish.

With our bellies filled and our hearts playful, we flow into the second half of the afternoon where we will explore different ways of meditation and / or yoga philosophy.

In JUNE: our Meditation will be exploring sound, via a couple of suggested chants and then a relaxing & calming metal singing bowl meditation.

Restore your feeling of belonging and connection as you converse with like-minded members of our yoga community and find that space within during meditation and yoga.

Quartz Crystal Bowl Sound Meditation

Sunday 12th June | 4-5pm | $30.00

In this one (1) hour session, there is nothing you need to do.

Simply arrive with a sense of curiosity, in comfortable clothing, lie or sit down. Then let the sound and the vibrations of the crystal singing bowls transform you into a deep state of relaxation and meditation.

No meditation experience required.

This will be your blissful transformation into winter, as we are celebrating equinox on June 21st.

This event is restricted to 15 participants, and will book out quickly.

Yin Yoga Course

YIN YOGA COURSE

Yin yoga is a quiet, slow-paced and mostly floor based form of yoga, where yoga poses (asanas) are held for a longer period of time.

Yin Yoga is based on the Daoist principles of yin & yang and aims to work on the yin tissues of the body, the connective tissues, namely joints, tendons, ligaments, bones and fascia.

You will be invited to let go of all muscular effort, allow yourself to come into a pose, be supported by bolsters, blocks and blankets and feel a stretch like sensation that varies in intensity depending on your own personal preference and physical state of being.  You will be encouraged to use your breath to soften, calm and quiet your mind and with that the intensity of the physical sensation.

Chakra Yoga & Trataka Meditation – URBAN RETREAT

SATURDAY, 13th February | 1.30pm to 4.45pm | $85

Balance your Chakras and set your intentions for a healthy and fulfilling Year 2016.

After the hype of the festive season and the laziness of January, this will be a great time to center yourself, to start the year looking after yourself first. So you can best look after others.

Our chakra yoga sequence will balance and activate all your chakras (energy centres) in your body.

You will be encouraged and guided to visualize colour and be invited to set an intention for each chakra.

We will then have a break for scrumptious afternoon tea. Sweet and savory food, tea and coffee will be provided and you can take this time to get to know your fellow yogis & yoginis.

The second part of the afternoon will see us gazing into a candleflame. You will have the chance to experience TRATAKA, or ‘flame gazing’ meditation. Adding to your repertoire of meditation techniques.

This will further allow the calmness you wish for in 2016 to manifest.
