DISCOVER REFLEXOLOGY – A PATHWAY TO HOLISTIC HEALING

This photo depicts Nadia, Kat’s mum, receiving a foot bath, our first welcome step for every Reflexology.  This allows for clean feet, which is important to you, not so much to me, and it is here where we establish eye contact and trust, we talk about your health concerns, your motivation for being here and your overall wellbeing. Whilst you relax into a soothing footbath, I receive some physical and energetic information through touching and looking at your feet.

After I dried your feet, you will be in an inclined position on the massage table and I will “massage” your feet.  You will most likely close your eyes and drift into a deep state of relaxation and rest. It’s your choice though.  Some clients chat to me throughou the treatment and move into a state of lighthearted joy or deep contemplation.

What is Reflexology?

For those deeply engaged in yoga and holistic wellness, reflexology offers a complementary approach to enhancing physical healing while nurturing mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. This therapeutic practice involves applying pressure to specific points on the feet, hands, and ears, each associated with different organs, body parts and systems in the body.

History of Reflexology?

Reflexology has roots in ancient healing traditions, with evidence found in cultures like Egypt, China, and India. In the early 20th century William Fitzgerald popularized it through his zone therapy concept, mapping the body’s systems onto the feet.  The Ingham Method of reflexology was pioneered by Eunice Ingham in the 1930s.  This practice has since been proved to promote overall health and assists in the self-healing abilities of the body.

How Reflexology works?

Reflexology operates on the principle of interconnectedness, much like yoga. By stimulating specific reflex points:

  • It promotes energy flow throughout the body, helping to release blockages that can lead to dis-comfort and dis-ease.
  • Enhances the mind-body connection, offering a pathway for emotional healing alongside physical relief.
  • Benefits of Reflexology for physical healing. As a yogi, you may find reflexology particularly beneficial for:
    • Pain relief. Alleviates headaches, back pain, and joint discomfort by triggering the release of endorphins.

  • We discuss your health goals and concerns.
  • Foot bath. The first point of contact.
  • Settle into a comfortable position and engage in calming techniques.
  • Technique application. I will use targeted pressure to stimulate reflex points, enhancing your mind-body awareness. Clear and stimulate all of your energy centres, and work on specific areas as discussed in our consultation.
  • Post session conversation and insights help you connect your experience with personal wellness and health goals and a deeper understanding of your energy.
