NEW MOON – A TIME TO GO INWARDS, FIND CLOSURE AND SET INTENTIONS FOR A NEW PHASE OF LIFE AND MOON CYCLE, and more…
New Moon is a fabulous time to honour the transition from one month to the next and one lunar cycle to the other. It is often a time when we feel less energetic, tired, naturally feel a little more introspective, and are called to slow down, have less social engagements, potter, day dream, journal, tend to the earth, the garden and to more creative pursuits.
It is also an energy that supports the clarity of setting new intentions, or starting new projects, and lean into new beginnings.
Why and what?
The energy is said to be earthbound, low, inward.
This makes it a good time for planting. Planting seeds, planting literally anything. Physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually. Planting during New Moon and harvesting during Full Moon. If this is the only garden wisdom you observe, you are going to be doing well in your green thumb endeavours.
New Moon also makes it a perfect time to find closure emotionally with something we may have been dwelling on. As I often say “tying a ribbon around something and finding closure, letting it be as it is, leaving it in the past”.
Also a fabulous energy to celebrate our achievements, and acknowledge how far we have come.
Health wise, it is a day when our physical bodies are receptive to purging and cleansing. So if you can make it a day of fasting you are contributing a great deal to the prevention of illnesses of all sorts.
In addition to above it’s a supportive energy to let go of any health damaging habits and substances, as the symptoms of withdrawal are lessened during the phase of the New Moon. These habits could be nicotine, alcohol, sugar, or any substances, habits, or addictions.
Enjoy the energy of newness and a fresh start, clarity and the art of letting go.
