On February 19th, after a Wednesday night yoga class, Joel spontaneously expressed the following (as an fb message):
“Since starting yoga with Bettina I feel amazing. My job (tattooing) relies a lot on my neck and back. I am constantly contorting into difficult positions and after 8 years it’s safe to say this has taken its toll on my body. I was getting weekly Thai massages which sometimes worked, sometimes made me feel worse. After searching on the net for yoga studios close to me I found The Art of Balance. It looked like the best one for me and after my first 4 classes I already felt a difference. Now after 4 months I haven’t had a back or neck problem since. It has become one of my favourite things to do, and I love how relaxed yet energetic each class is. I didn’t expect to have so much fun. Bettina is an amazing and inspirational teacher and has made me more motivated, positive, flexible and balanced.”
Joel, what was your original motivation to start yoga?
I wanted to become stronger and more flexible to support the physical work I do. I am a tattooist.
How has yoga improved your life?
I can breathe easier and I am much calmer in stressful situations. It also made my job a lot easier as I have become stronger and more flexible.
What do you do apart from yoga?
I am a tattooist, I also paint and I hang with friends.
What is your all-time favourite yoga pose?
Shoulder Stand!
Why do you continue your yoga journey?
Because I love it and it makes me feel better!
